2007-2008 Testing Calendar

It is important that your child arrives on time during the state testing days.  Students who arrive after the testing has begun will NOT be allowed in their class.  A make-up test will have to be scheduled for any students who are absent during state testing.

Grade 3 EOG PreTests

  • September 4th - 7th, 2007

Grade 4 Writing Test

  • March 4, 2008

Grades 3 - 5 EOG Tests

  • May 19th - Background Information
  • May 20th - Reading
  • May 21th- 22nd - Math

Grade 5 Science EOG Test

  • May 23rd

Grade 3 and 5 -EOG "Retest"

  • May 27th - 29th

(The "retest" is for students in grades 3 and 5 who didn't pass the EOG tests the first time.  If those students don't pass the EOG retest, then they will need to attend summer school)

 

Testing Questions

Q: What is ABCs?

A: The ABCs began in 1996-96 as North Carolina's primary school improvement program.  The program has three primary goals: strengthen local school accountability, emphasize mastery of basic subjects and provide as much local decision-making as possible.


Q: What is AYP?

A: Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) measures the yearly progress of different groups of students at the school, district, and state levels against yearly targets in reading/language arts and mathematics.
