Other News:

Congratulations to Mrs. Debbie Cherry on her retirement.  Mrs. Cherry, our Media Specialist, retired on January 31st, 2008.  We will miss her!!  Mrs. B. Tillet, a retired Media Specialist from ECMS, with over 30 years experience is filling in for the remainder of the year.

Mrs. Beard's 4th grade math classes did a Math Food Project in December. The students researched hunger in our area.  Then the students had to earned money to purchase can goods.  A lot of math was used when each student had to figure out how to best spend their money to get the most food, was the change given back from the cashier correct, weigh the food to know what total amount of food was purchased and lastly, estimated how much food they thought the class as a whole would purchase.  The total was 347 lbs of can food.  The food was then donated to the Albemarle Food Bank.   Great job students!!!
