                                    Mr. Kidd's Math Class

It has been an exciting first few weeks. Our math classes have worked hard on collecting, organizing, analyzing and interpreting data.  We compared arm span to height, graphed our favorite sports, and found our median lung air capacity to name a few of our hands-on/group work activities.  After compiling our information, we created different types of graphs such as bar, double bar, line, circle, and line plots.  We also analyzed and interpreted the median, mode and range of a variety of data sets such as our height.

In the next few weeks we will be learning about place value to ten thousands, comparing and ordering whole numbers, estimating with whole numbers, reviewing multiplication facts and discovering strategies for multiplying numbers, multiplying 2-digit by 2-digit, order of operations, hands-on equations and problem solving throughout objectives taught.  When possible, try to incorporate math skills we are learning into real world applications.

              Thanks for all your support.
