Central Elementary School offers a comprehensive school counseling program committed to helping each student develop the skills needed to be successful in the areas of academics, personal-social and career preparation.  Counseling services are delivered through classroom guidance for all grades, as well as individual and small group counseling sessions.  The counseling program is designed to be preventative, teaching students to understand themselves and others and to learn to make positive choices when dealing with stress and conflict.  Responsive counseling services are offered as needed to help students deal with on-going or situational problems as the need arises.

Classroom guidance lessons will include the monthly character education words.  Additionally, students will learn conflict resolution skills through a program called “Kelso’s Choices”.

Please feel free to call or come by the counseling office at anytime.  My goal is to support students, parents and teachers any way possible to help ensure school success for all students.  Outside the counseling office is a rack of free material on a variety of parenting topics.  Please help yourself to any of the materials there.  I also have a great many other resource materials including books, pamphlets and videos that I will be glad to share with you.

** All counseling matters are held in the strictest of confidence. **
