entral School has a state of the art equipped art room. We have a lithography and block printing press. There is a pottery wheel and clay shaping tools. We  have a large capacity kiln to fire the pottery and a newly added silk screen printing system to print tee-shirts.

Our Art Program for September will begin with a school wide design competition. Students are asked to create an original cat design to be placed on our Central School Website. Parents and students are encouraged to check our Website often to see who the current winner is.

Fifth grade classes will begin planning designs for tee shirts. They will learn about logos and commercial applications of art.

Fourth grade classes will begin one point perspective drawings in preparation for drawing and painting landscapes.

Third grade classes will practice drawing and modeling basic shapes using light and shadow to create form.

Second grade classes will draw animals by breaking down the images into the basic shapes that define the form of the animal under study.

First grade classes will learn how to use shapes to create houses, fruits and vegetables, and other familiar objects.

Kindergarten students will learn names of shapes and how they are used in the classroom. They will learn spelling of shapes and colors.
