Multiple Indicators of Giftedness

1.

Observation/Referral- observable behavior such as highly expressive communication, motivation, inquiry, creativity, and performance level.

2.

Student Performance-

as seen through grades, work samples, portfolios, and other authentic assessments.

3.

Student Achievement- standardized test scores; may include End-of-Grade or End-of-Course test scores.

4.

Student Aptitude-

the capacity for learning involving problem solving and memory; may include IQ scores.

5.

Student Interest-

as displayed by intense interest in an area or multiple areas.

6.

Student Motivation to Learn-

the commitment to pursue learning experiences.
