New legislation pertaining to gifted education (Article 9-B) enacted July 1996 led to the developmant of a new local plan for the education of academically or intellectually gifted students. The local plan reflects the new legislation and the guidelines set forth by the State Board of education. It is designed to identify and establish procedures for providing appropriate education services to each academically or intellectually gifted student.
