Whenever there is a forecast of severe weather, our transportation staff, local emergency 9-1-1 officials, and the Superintendent work together to monitor the situation. Road conditions
are checked, many times at 3 and 4 a.m. and the district essential personnel stay in constant contact with the Pasquotank Sheriff's Department, as well as follow information from the weather bureau and local media.

The decision for a delay or closing is not made hastily nor by one person. It is a collective process each and every time. Before the school day begins, whatever the decision is, will be made no later than 6 a.m. The school district staff contacts the local media as soon as possible regarding delays or closings to keep you well informed.
